Halo 4 already in development?

Speaking with Bungie at an exclusive this month we were informed that there was no rest for the wicked for the team as they were already beavering away at the next Halo game in the franchise. When questioned whether the game would be a prequel, Bungie remained tight lipped as always but we have a hunch that the game might actually be Halo - The Movie Game (insert movie title prefix here). Either way, it’s early days considering many are still tackling the single player of Halo 3.

Microsoft Talks Xbox 360 Live And Server Strain

A week ago, Microsoft unveiled their program to make good to all the Xbox 360 gamers who were affected by the Xbox Live glitches since season.Meanwhile, the company is talking more about just what went wrong during the tumultuous period.

“We had the biggest concurrent day we’ve ever had on Live. We had more people than ever signing up on XBL, it was 9 million, then 10 million, and it literally was that a lot more people were trying to get on, sign up and play than we had expected over Christmas,” said Xbox group marketing manager Albert Penello to Kotaku.

Sitting Down with Microsoft’s Jeff Bell

Near the end of CES 2008, 1UP was given the chance to have some one-on-one time with none other than Microsoft executive Jeff Bell (he’s their Corporate Vice President of Global Marketing for Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business, to be exact). The gaming community was first introduced to Mr. Bell at Microsoft’s Electronic Entertainment Expo conference last summer during a maybe-too-scripted segment about Madden NFL 08. The unintentionally comical bit prompted expected ribbing and Photoshops from the gaming peanut gallery — which then resulted in an otherwise insignificant comment on a message board becoming a thing of gaming legend.

Treyarch gets Call of Duty 5 and going WWII

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is one of the most fun, unique and compelling games that I have ever had the luxury of playing. It brought a whole new game play to the table that is yet to be matched in my eyes. So when I heard about CoD 5 I was ecstatic to say the least however my enthusiasm was diminished when I continued to read that Activision had chosen Treyarch the development team who brought us Call of Duty 3 will be making the next installment, and what’s more is that they will be heading away from the Modern Warfare approach and slumping back to the done to death theme of WWII.
